If you are trying to earn money by using Google AdSense, you may have already heard about smart pricing. If you are a fearful kind of person, you’ll think twice, or even ten times before putting the code on your sites. The slightest possibility of getting your AdSense account smart priced would make you wait a week more, a month more, a year more… some will wait for a life more before having the guts to display those ads on their website.

While it is true that you could use some AdSense tips and rules, in order to get started, too much fear at the wrong moment would lead you nowhere.

Am I Right To Fear AdSense Smart Pricing?

I believe life is an ongoing balance of risks vs. benefits. Before taking any decision, we estimate the good and the bad that may happen as a consequence. If the wish to have the good is stronger than the fear of the bad, we are taking that action. If the fear is stronger, we are paralyzed. I don’t say either variant is better, because this is a personal option for each of us and for each decision we have to take.

Being right to fear smart pricing depends very much on the moment you choose to listen to that fear of yours. Have you managed to bring so much traffic to your website? Go fear! Are you still struggling with 10-50 unique visitors per day? Forget smart pricing, your concern should be bringing in the traffic first.

Why am I writing this posts that teaches you nothing on AdSense smart pricing, as you may have hoped when landing in here? Because it has been proven that it’s possible to make money niche blogging with hot topics. The author of this demonstration shows how he’s gotten 1.5 million visitors to a bunch of brand new sites in 8 days, and how that translated into money earned. Reading through the comments on that post, I noticed that some readers expressed their concern of publishing AdSense on hot trends blogs, which most probably leads to smart pricing.

So what?!

First of all, if you get enough traffic, money would follow. Is your AdSense account so precious to you that you wouldn’t bear a two weeks smart pricing? OK, then use affiliate links to monetize that traffic. Griz, the author of the mentioned experiment could have been using any other type of monetisation program. It happened to be AdSense. It could have been Kontera, or some Clickbank product. The idea was that he managed to bring all that traffic writing about hot topics of the past week.

Besides, if we do a rough calculation, $9000 earned out of 1.5 million visitors, means about $6 per thousand visitors. It’s probably much lower than in many other niches, but it’s still $9000 more in his pocket, isn’t it? What if Griz would have feared smart pricing?

How Much Money Are You Making With AdSense?

If you are making a lot, whatever a lot means to you, then if you get smart priced, you’ll still make something. Smart pricing is reversible. If you see a drop in earnings for several days, you take the ads off the last blog and you’ll be fine in a week or so.

If you are making very little, what would be the difference if you noticed a drop in your earnings?

What’s the use of preserving a clean, not smart priced, AdSense account that brings you almost nothing? What’s the use of being the early bird, if you are afraid of worms?
